One issue I didn’t think about when putting the raised garden beds where we did was the close-by pecan tree (to the right where the hammock is).
I mean, I knew it was there because it blocks the sun for a portion of the day, but I didn’t foresee dead and diseased leaves falling off the tree into the garden.
After doing a little research online, it seems this is pecan scab disease on most of the leaves that fall. This explains why our pecan tree never really produces any pecans. I’m not sure if this could be harmful to the vegetables in my garden. Just in case, I check the garden daily and remove any new-fallen leaves. This is where the height of the garden beds comes in super helpful so I’m not bending over any. After all the hard work put into the garden so far, I will have a good harvest from it!
