Last week, I finally got around to cleaning up a few plants outside. I’ve been meaning to do it for a month now, but things kept coming up. I really have the gardening bug this year. I can’t wait to get my patio garden going. Spring is just around the corner! The forsythia (yellow bells) are blooming already, though mine always look so sad. I don’t know why they never get bigger as the years go by, and they usually don’t put out many blooms.
I also trimmed down my rose tree.
And I trimmed away all of the dead parts in my chrysanthemum and catnip plants.
The rose bushes I have on my deck got cut down as well. Can’t wait to see them bloom!
I barely put a dent in the things I need to do in the yard. There are limbs and sticks everywhere, so that needs to be cleaned up. I also need to trim up all of the boxwood shrubs and a few other shrubs we have. Those will have to wait another day. My next project is this mess below, in the middle of our backyard. I have no idea what half the stuff is (and we’ve been here for almost 4 years). I would really like to just get rid of everything in that patch and perhaps do a raised garden in that area, if we plan on staying here long enough.
