This past Saturday, we had a small cookout at our house with a few close family members and a friend. On the menu: Persian food. Yum! I might share the recipes one day.
We marinated the joojeh kabobs for 2-3 days (chicken).
And then Saturday, we grilled the joojeh kababs with patties of beef koobideh…
We all hung out by the grill on this beautiful pre-spring day while Alex finished grilling the meat. It was definitely a perfect day for a cookout with family and friends.
We also had Mast o Khiar to go with dinner, along with basmati rice (cooked the right way), feta cheese, and pita bread. Everyone was beyond stuffed afterwards, but all of us (except Alex, the anti-dessert guy) made room for a slice of my mom’s almond cream cheese pound cake with some vanilla ice cream. This is what I look forward to during spring and summer! I can’t wait to start using the grill more often, not that we don’t ever grill during the fall and summer. But you get my point.
After dinner we played a game of Would you Rather? and then a game of Monopoly. It was definitely an awesome Saturday!
